TRUE MEDIA CEO NAMED SMALL BUSINESS PERSON OF THE YEAR
Jack Miller, CEO of True Media, was announced as the winner of the Eastern Missouri Small Business Person of the Year for 2015 and will be recognized on Thursday, May 7th at a dinner reception at Norwood Country Club in St. Louis.
The Small Business Person award highlights the importance of the contributions that America’s small business owners and entrepreneurs make every day. As this year’s winner, Jack is placed amongst an elite group of entrepreneurs and small business owners in the country.
Miller, a Moberly, Missouri native, launched True Media in 2005 with just a single employee. Today, with more than 100 employees in three offices and two different countries, True Media stands as a leading media strategy and communications firm in North America. Jack and True Media have been recognized previously by Inc. magazine for the past five consecutive years as one of America’s fastest growing companies, with the Missouri Fast Track award in 2012, and most recently with the 2014 Bionic Agency of the Year award. In addition to his work at True Media, Jack serves as an owner and board member of a programmatic digital marketing company, which he co-founded in 2014, and a real-estate development company, which launched in 2011.
From the very beginning of his business career, Miller has remained committed to nurturing the community surrounding his businesses. He has dedicated countless hours and financial resources to local charitable organizations such as the Food Bank, Ronald McDonald House, and various educational programs such as Columbia Independent School where he serves on the Board of Trustees. He recently spearheaded a group of business owners to begin revitalizing a prominent area of Columbia and gained accolades for his restoration work at his company’s offices in Maryland Heights. In addition, Jack dedicates time each month to participate in a Bible education work within the Hispanic community. “My faith and family are the most important drivers in how I determine success,” Miller said. “Balancing those responsibilities with my business interests keeps me busy…and that’s exactly the way I like it.” He has been married to his wife Karin for 17 years and together they raise their son Andrew and daughter Alle.
Every year since 1963, as part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes an opportunity to recognize small businesses making a difference in the competitiveness of our nation. The owners of these businesses, from all 50 states and U.S. territories, work hard to create jobs and drive innovation – creating roughly two-out-of-three new jobs annually in the U.S.
