COLUMBIA, Mo — (April 20, 2010) — Jack Miller, president of True Media, announced today that Grammy award-winning artist Rosanne Cash will be performing May 13 at True Media’s annual celebration of clients and the media.  This private event, to be held at the historic Blue Note in Columbia, Mo., has become one of the premier advertising events in the Midwest featuring past performances by the Gin Blossoms, Chuck Berry and others.

“The principle reason we host this event is to bring together True Media clients from all over North America with many of the advertising representatives that we deal with on a day-to-day basis,” said Miller.  “We always look for premium entertainment and are very happy that Rosanne Cash accepted our invitation to perform.”

Rosanne Cash, daughter of country music legend Johnny Cash, has 21 Top 40 country singles, a Grammy and a newly released album titled “The List.”  The genesis of Cash's new album dates back to 1973. She had just graduated high school and was starting to write songs of her own when her father discovered some gaps in her knowledge of American roots music.

"I think he was alarmed that I might miss something essential about who he was and who I was," says Cash. "He had a deeply intuitive understanding and overview of every critical juncture in Southern music—Appalachian songs, early folk songs, Delta blues, Southern gospel, right up to modern country music."

Three dozen years later, Cash has selected 12 songs from the syllabus presented to her by her father and recorded her first album of covers.
